The Center for Neighborhood Sustainability
The Center for Neighborhood Sustainability helps create and sustain a flourishing neighborhood using existing tools and resources from within the community. We believe that by empowering the local economy, creating partnerships and encouraging a commitment to the environment, we can help create a happy and healthy community.
The Center is home to a large garden with plots for vegetables, where the landscaping and architecture is constructed sustainably from mud and recycled materials. The Center is a community gathering place where local residents come together for daily meetings, community events and holidays.
The Center for Neighborhood Sustainability is proud to serve as a national model which has been replicated in more than 10 communities throughout Israel.

Rubashka - Second Hand Boutique
Theory and Practice is a social enterprise that provides teaching and training at the Center.
This social enterprise provides guidance and training to groups of all ages and abilities.
Classes include: community development, promoting environmental awareness, composting, mud construction and water recycling.
Theory and Practice provides high-caliber training to educational institutions, nursery schools, primary school groups and groups from MASA and Birthright.

Town Square is our community center.
Events are held on a daily basis and include holiday celebrations, performances, parties and evening discussions and seminars. Participants include local community members, students and residents from across Be’er Sheva.
